When using public Wi-Fi, you run the risk of exposing your data and personal information to anyone who’s sharing the same network. Hunter from the Windows Wi-Fi team explains the security risks of using public Wi-Fi networks and shares some tips on how to avoid unintentionally putting your details into the wrong hands.

For your safe usage of public WI-FI networks, be sure to 1) avoid accessing sensitive data while on public Wi-Fi, 2) only connect to networks that you trust, 3) avoid connecting automatically, 4) make sure your firewall is on, and 5) use a Virtual Private Network (VPN) to encode all the data being sent over Wi-Fi.
