What is 5G? What are the benefits of 5G? How will 5G affect you? When will 5G be implemented?

5G is the next generation in cellular signal beyond today’s 4G LTE standard. 5G is being developed along side todays existing 4G LTE networks. With more connected people and devices, 5G will meet the demands of a network that is growing quickly.

Download speeds on 5G networks will be 100X faster then 4G LTE networks. 5G will be able to support 10X more battery for low power applications.

What does the timeline look like for 5G? There are trials and testing to enhance 4G LTE network speeds, but with specifications and hardware development we probably wont see 5G until 2020. Although the network will only be a fixed wireless system, which means it won’t be completely mobile.

WeBoost boosters will not be affected by the advances in cellular signal and will continue to operate effectively as improvements are made to 4G LTE.
